Fitzroy Figures

These drawings were done in a 3 month period in 1999 on a very early MacIntosh Apple computer (512 K) using the mouse to draw directly on the screen. It was before colour on computers was around but the available fill patterns on Mac Paint were great. I had never used a computer before, it was amazing.

This is the Quote that accompanies the illustrations in my Artists Book.

………… These our actors,…..
Are melted into air, into thin air:
And, like the baseless fabric of this vision,
The cloud-capp’d towers, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself,
Ye all which it inherit, shall dissolve,
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff
As dreams are made on, and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep. ………… The Tempest. Act IV, Scene 1 Prospero
